Freedmen's Labor Contract: Middleton's Hobonny Plantation, Beaufort, SC, 1866

On March 24, 1866, Williams Middleton, owner of Hobonny Plantation on the Combahee River near Yemassee, Beaufort County, South Carolina, entered into an agreement with freed men and women to cultivate Hobonny Plantation for a portion of the crop.
