Biographical Information

Stephen Drayton was the son of Thomas Drayton and Elizabeth Bull. He married first, Ann Betts. He married, second, Elizabeth Waring, daughter of John Waring, on 31 Jan. 1769. He was appointed to the Council of Safety in Georgia 29 Dec. 1775; was commissioned deputy Quartermaster General, Southern Department, Continental Army on 17 Nov. 1778; appointed Justice of the Peace in 1785 [2].

On June 1, 1774, Stephen Drayton issued a bond to Henry Middleton and Daniel Blake for L3,600 secured with the following slaves [3]:
